Santa Fe: Twin Palms, 1995. Hardcover. First edition, first printing. F. Holland Day (1864-1933) was a photographer and publisher. He was of the Pictorialist movement, a rival of Stieglitz, and produced only platinum prints from his negatives and often only one print. He was widely assumed to be homosexual because his subject matter was often nude male youths. He is also remembered for a series of self-portraits of himself as Christ culminating in his crucifixion. This volume presents his most representative work in a beautiful production. Photographs by F. Holland Day; essay by James Crump. 144 pages; 86 four-color plates; 11 x 14 inches. Bibliography, annotated list of plates.
